Massive Price Increase in Framing Lumber and Plywood
U.S. Department of Labor US Bureau of Labor Statistics data show, not surprisingly, the massive price increase in framing lumber and plywood for subflooring and exterior walls. Sometimes it is good to look at this graphically.
Most newly constructed residential projects I am seeing have a materials cost of $30K for framing material and another $30K for labor. Usually framing is the single largest line item in the project's "statement of work".
At this increase we will continue to see more rehab add on's versus teardowns.
